Throttle Position Switch: Adjustments

Idle Switch Test:

1. Start the engine and warm to operating temperature.
2. Connect an ohm meter or continuity tester between terminals B and C.
3. Connect a tachometer to the engine.
4. Raise the engine rpm to 2000 rpm and slowly lower to idle.
5. Confirm that continuity does not exist until engine rpm reaches idle speed +250 ± 150.
6. If not within specified range, loosen the two securing screws and rotate switch until within range.
7. Tighten screws and recheck.
