CIRCUIT OPERATION
When the ECU senses the proper conditions suitable for AIV operation, via the water temperature sensor, idle switch and crank angle sensor it supplies the ground circuit to the AIV solenoid allowing the system to operate. Refer to EMISSION CONTROLS for further description of the AIV valve.

AIR INDUCTION VALVE SOLENOID
The ECU supplies the ground circuit to the AIV solenoid, energizing it. This redirects vacuum from the source port and vent port to the source port and valve port, applying vacuum to the AIV.
