Idle Speed: Adjustments
1. Start the engine and warm it up until the water temperature indicator points to the middle of the gauge.2. Operate the engine at 2000 rpm for 2 minutes under no load.
3. Race the engine 2 or 3 times under no load, then check the idle speed.
Idle speed should be:
M/T 800 ± 100 rpm.
A/T 750 ± 100 rpm (in "D" position).
If not proceed to step 4.

4. Turn the engine off.
5. Disconnect the auxiliary air control valve connector (located on the throttle chamber).
6. Start the engine and warm it up until the water temperature indicator points to the middle of the gauge.
7. Operate the engine at 2000 rpm for 2 minutes under no load.
8. Race the engine 2 or 3 times under no load.

9. Turn the idle adjusting screw to obtain an idle speed of:
M/T 750 ± 50 rpm.
A/T 650 ± 50 rpm (in "D" position).
10. Turn the engine off.
11. Reconnect the auxiliary air control valve connector.
