Ignition Timing: Adjustments
1. Start the engine and warm it up until the water temperature indicator points to the middle of the gauge.2. Operate the engine at 2000 rpm for 2 minutes under no load.
3. Idle engine and check timing.
Timing should be 15° ± 2° BTDC.
If not proceed to step 4.

4. Turn the engine off.
5. Disconnect the idle switch connector (located on the throttle chamber).

6. Disconnect the auxiliary air control valve connector (located on the idle air adjusting unit).

7. Start the engine and warm it up until the water temperature indicator points to the middle of the gauge.
8. Adjust the ignition timing to 15° BTDC by turning the distributor after loosening the securing bolt.
9. Turn the engine off.
10. Reconnect the auxiliary air control valve and the idle switch connectors.
