Ignition Coil

Ignition Coil Test:

EXHAUST COIL
1. Using an ohm meter, check resistance value between terminals 1 & 3.

Resistance: 0.8 - 1.0 ohms

2. Using an ohm meter, check resistance value between terminal 3 & secondary terminal.

Resistance: 7.6k - 11.4k ohms

3. Check coil for signs of leakage.
Replace the ignition coil if it fails the above test.


INTAKE COIL
1. Using an ohm meter, check resistance value between terminals 1 & 2.

Resistance: 0.8 - 1.0 ohms

2. Using an ohm meter, check resistance value between terminal 2 & secondary terminal.

Resistance: 7.6k - 11.4k ohms

3. Check coil for signs of leakage.
Replace the ignition coil if it fails the above test.
