Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Turn the ignition key OFF.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Wait approximately 5 minutes.
4. Remove the four bolts securing the R.F. seat.
5. Remove the R.F. seat.
6. Remove the screws securing the ECU to the car body.
7. Remove the electrical connectors from the ECU.
8. Remove the ECU.

INSTALLATION
1. Reconnect the electrical connectors to the ECU.
NOTE: Connector locks must engage and electrical connection must be secure! If necessary, tighten female terminals in the harness connector or replace the harness.
2. Reinstall the ECU to the car body.
3. Reinstall R.F. seat.
4. Reinstall the 4 seat bolts and torque them to 25 - 31 N-m (2.5 - 3.1 kg-m, 18 - 23 ft. lbs.).
5. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
