CIRCUIT OPERATION
The AIV control system is used to precisely control the AIV operation.
When the ECU senses the proper conditions suitable for AIV operation, via the engine temperature sensor, idle switch, crank angle sensor and vehicle speed sensor, it supplies the ground circuit to the AIV solenoid allowing the system to operate. Refer to EMISSION CONTROLS for further description of the AIV valve.

AIR INDUCTION VALVE SOLENOID
When the ECU senses the predetermined conditions for AIV operation, it energizes the AIV solenoid, redirecting vacuum from the source port and vent port to the source port and valve port applying vacuum to the AIV.
