APPLIED VEHICLES:
1990 300ZX(Z32), Equipped with BOSE Radio Systems
1989-90 Maxima(J30), Equipped with BOSE Radio Systems

SERVICE INFORMATION:

Some of the radios on the above-listed vehicles may exhibit an intermittent static or scratchy noise from some or all speakers when adjusting the volume control. This noise may dissipate after cycling the volume control and, therefore, may be difficult to duplicate.

REPAIR INFORMATION:

Remove and replace the radio with a counter-measure unit; such units can be ordered by calling Clarion's Warranty Hot-Line, 1-800-347-8933. Dealers calling this Hot-Line to order a countermeasure unit should identify the symptom and the part number of the currently-installed radio and verbally request a counter-measure unit "for static noise when adjusting volume."
