1. Install main bearings, Fig. 81, crankshaft and bearing cap. Tighten attaching bolts to specifications in sequence, Figs. 82, 83 and 84 in 2 or 3 steps.

2. Install piston assemblies with rings properly positioned, Fig. 85.
3. Reverse remainder of engine disassembly procedure to complete assembly, noting the following:

a. On models except 1992 Maxima with VE30DE engine, tighten cylinder head attaching bolts to specifications using sequence shown in Figs. 86 and 87.

b. Tighten intake manifold attaching bolts in sequence, Figs. 88, 89 and 90 to specifications in 2 or 3 steps.
c. On 1992 Maxima with VE30DE engine, refer to TIMING BELT for cylinder head and intake manifold installation.
