SERVICE INFORMATION

On some 1990 300ZX vehicles, customers may complain of oil leaks, lack of timing belt tension, or a noise (high pitch or squeal) coming from the front of the engine.

To improve the durability of the auto tensioner, several design changes have been made:

^ The material for the oil seal has been changed to a fluorine-type resin compound to prevent oil leakage.





^ The oil passage for the auto tensioner has been relocated (Figure 1)

^ The clearance between the body and the piston has been reduced.
