300ZX TURBO REAR SPOILER
APPLIED MODELS:
1990-92 300ZX Turbo
SERVICE INFORMATION:
The purpose of this Bulletin is to clarify the parts that are specifically associated with the rear spoiler installed on the 300ZX Turbo. Improper application of parts could lead to improper operation of the High Mount Stop Lamp or difficulties in operation of the rear hatch.
1. Stay assemblies (gas struts) - Rear Door
On the turbo models, stiffer rear stay assemblies (gas struts) are used to compensate for the added weight of the air spoiler. These are necessary to ensure adequate force is present to maintain the rear door in the full open position.
Be sure to always replace the rear stay assemblies with the correct part for the applied model and specification (refer to parts catalog).
2. Stop and Tail Lamp Sensor Assembly
On the turbo models, a different stop and tail lamp sensor assembly is used. This is necessary due to the added electrical load of the spoiler mounted High Mount Stop Lamp (HMSL). The stop and tail lamp sensor assembly from the non-turbo vehicles must not be used with the spoiler mounted HMSL.
Be sure to always replace the stop and tail lamp sensor assembly with the correct part for the applied model and specification (refer to parts catalog).
WARRANTY INFORMATION:
