Fuel Pressure Regulator Control System

Fuel Pressure Regulator Control System:

CIRCUIT OPERATION
During hot engine starting the ECU will supply the ground circuit to the fuel pressure regulator control valve. The solenoid valve opens the vacuum source to the pressure regulator allowing atmospheric pressure enter the line. This increases the fuel pressure, allowing easier starting.

PRESSURE REGULATOR CONTROL SOLENOID
When the ECU senses condition suitable for increased fuel pressure it energizes the solenoid. This redirects vacuum from the source port and valve port to the source port and vent port preventing vacuum from being applied to the fuel pressure regulator. This allows an increase in fuel pressure.
