On models with airbag, disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ARMING & DISARMING. The ignition lock is retained by two shear type screws, Fig. 2. It is necessary to drill out these screws to remove ignition lock from steering tube. When installing, ensure the shear type screws are used.
