BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUD

SERVICE INFORMATION:

The exhaust manifold stud has been changed for improved durability. Use the following procedure to repair vehicles which exhibit excessive exhaust noise due to exhaust manifold stud breakage.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:





1. Remove the exhaust manifold on the side of the engine with broken stud(s). (Figure 1) For additional information, refer to the EM Section of the appropriate Service Manual.

2. Replace the broken stud(s) and the front and rear studs DWI using the improved part, P/N 14065-V5003.

3. Replace the exhaust manifold gasket and the exhaust manifold with new parts. Refer to the EM Section of the appropriate Service Manual for proper torque values for the fasteners. Refer to the Parts Catalog/Microfiche for applicable P/N's.

WARRANTY INFORMATION:

Please reference Section "AT-Manifolds (V6 Engine)" of the current "Nissan Flat Rate Manual" and select the appropriate right/left manifold gasket replacement OpCode with the indicated combination OpCode for replacement of the right/left exhaust manifold stud. Use PNC 14006 and the indicated FRT's for the applicable vehicle.
