SERVICE INFORMATION
The rear seat carpet on some 1990 300ZX 2+2 models may bunch up at the edge, resulting in a wavy appearance. This can be eliminated using the service procedure contained in this Technical Bulletin. This procedure details installation of a metal retainer and new plastic clips to fit onto the carpet, flattening down the wavy edge.
The retainer is a flat metal strip which fits underneath the carpet and stiffens the carpet edge, improving the fit. Please note that new retaining clips must be used to hold the retainer in place because the old clips can be damaged during removal, and as a result, will not hold the retainer in place if reused.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the 6 retaining clips from the top edge of the carpet (Figure 1).

2. Remove the 6 retaining clips from the plastic carpet strip.
3. Place the metal retainer between the plastic strip and the back of the carpet (Figure 2).

4. Place the new clips through the metal retainer and plastic strip, then push them through the holes in the back of the rear seat (Figure 3).
