Cooling System: Description and Operation

Radiator Fan Control System:

The ECU provides the ground signals to the radiator fan relays to control fan speed and operation based on signals supplied from the engine temperature sensor, A/C switch and vehicle speed sensor.

Radiator Fan Operation (A/C Off):

Refer to the figure for radiator fan operation operation with the air conditioner off.

Radiator Fan Operation (High A/C Temperature):

Refer to the figure for radiator fan operation operation with the air conditioner on and the A/C output temperature is above 8° C (46° F).

Radiator Fan Operation (Low A/C Temperature):

Refer to the figure for radiator fan operation operation with the air conditioner on and the A/C output temperature is between 3° C (37° F) and 8° C (46° F.
