Connecting Rod: Service and Repair
DISASSEMBLY1. Remove piston rings with a ring remover.
2. Press out piston pin. Keep disassembled parts in order.

Fig. 80 Piston Dimensions:
1. Assemble pistons, piston pins and connecting rods of designated cylinders, noting the following:
a. Ensure stamped numbers on connecting rod and cap correspond to each cylinder. Piston skirt diameter (A) should be 3.4238-3.4242 inch standard piston, dimension (a) 0.71 inch, Fig. 80.
b. Apply clean engine oil to piston pin and small end of connecting rod before pressing pin into rod.
2. Install piston rings.
