Compressor Clutch Relay: Description and Operation

The [1][2]A/C relay, located in the relay box in the engine compartment, signals the Engine Control Module (ECM) when the A/C compressor is engaged or the blower fan is on. The ECM can then raise the idle to compensate for the added load.
