Preliminary Inspections

A/T FLUID CHECK




Fluid leakage check
1. Clean area suspected of leaking, - for example, mating surface of converter housing and transmission case.
2. Start engine, apply foot brake, place selector lever in "D" range and wait a few minutes.
3. Stop engine.




4. Check for fresh leakage

ROAD TESTING

Description




- The purpose of this road test is to determine overall performance of automatic transaxle and analyze causes of problems.
- The road test consists of the following three parts:
1. Check before engine is started
2. Check at idle
3. Cruise test




- Before road test, familiarize yourself with all test procedures and items to check.
- Conduct tests on all items. Troubleshoot items which check out No Good after road test. Refer to "Self-diagnosis" and "Diagnostic Procedure". Self-Diagnosis Diagnostic Procedure 1

- Check all items listed in Parts 1 through 3.
- Throttle position can be controlled by voltage across terminals (34) and (35) of A/T control unit.
