Fuel Pump Relay: Description and Operation

Fuel Pump Control System:

The fuel pump relay is located under the drivers side of the dash board. The ECU determines when to energized the relay by monitoring the ignition switch and the signal from the crank angle sensor. Power is supplied to the relay when the crank angle sensor is providing a signal (i.e. running or cranking) and for 5 seconds when the ignition is turned on to pressurize the fuel system.
