V-5 TO V-6 COMPRESSOR CONVERSION KIT FOR R-12 SYSTEMS

SERVICE INFORMATION
The V-5 compressor is no longer in production. A new kit is available to convert the V-5 to a V-6 compressor system. This new V-6 compressor kit is designed for R-12 refrigerant systems only and all kit components should not be used for R-134a refrigerant systems.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Discharge the A/C refrigerant using Nissan recommended recovery equipment.
2. Install all of the kit components shown in Figure 1 onto the vehicle. Also replace the liquid tank using P/N 92131-53F00 (not included in kit). Ensure the compressor belt is properly adjusted and all joint connectors are properly torqued per "Service Procedures" in the HA section of the appropriate service manual.
3. Affix the V-6 Component Service Label supplied in the kit) to the vehicle engine room wall as shown in Figure 2. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before installing the label.
4. Evacuate then recharge the system with 1.8 - 2.0 lb. (0.8 - 0.9 kg) of R-12 refrigerant. Ensure the correct amount of refrigerant oil is installed in the system as described in "Compressor/Lubrication Oil" in the HA section of the appropriate service manual.
5. Perform an A/C system leak check and performance test to ensure a proper repair.
