IMPROPER OPERATION OF CASSETTE, HEAD UNIT: MULTIPLE SYMPTOMS
APPLIED MODELS:
1989-91 Nissans Equipped with Clarion Radio/Cassette Combo Units.
SERVICE INFORMATION:
When using the cassette function on the applied radio/cassette combo units, the following symptoms may be noted:
^ the program may switch direction or may not play
^ there may be a muffled sound quality
^ a sound quality which lacks bass or treble response
NOTE:
In those cases where the cassette section of the radio/cassette combo unit exhibits a lack of bass or treble frequency response, tape cleaners will not resolve the incident.
^ intermittent buzzing noise
^ distorted sound quality
^ tape speed fluctuates (slow or fast). These symptoms are grnerally easy to duplicate.
REPAIR INFORMATION:
In those cases where the referenced symptoms are associated with the Applied Vehicles, remove and replace the radio/cassette combo unit.
