APPLIED MODEL:
All models equipped with ABS brakes
SERVICE INFORMATION
Some customers may notice a "clunk" noise after each engine start when their vehicles are initially driven in forward or reverse gear. The "clunk" noise may be accompanied by a brief "pulsation" in the brake pedal. This condition is caused by the A.B.S. system performing a self-check function and is normal.
The self-check function only occurs the first time the vehicle reaches 4 mph or greater in forward or reverse gear after starting the engine. This check automatically activates the A.B.S. actuator causing the brake pedal to pulsate momentarily.
