Throttle Position Sensor: Adjustments

Idle Switch Adjustment:

1. Start and warm the engine to operating temperature.
2. Disconnect the idle switch connector.
3. Connect an ohm meter or continuity tester between terminals A and B.
4. Connect a tachometer to the engine.
5. Turn the diagnostic mode selector (located on the ECU) fully clockwise.
6. Raise the engine rpm to 2000 rpm and slowly lower to idle.
7. Confirm that continuity does not exist until the engine speed is 250 ± 150 rpm ABOVE idle speed in neutral.
8. If not within specified range, loosen the two securing screws and rotate switch until within range.
9. Tighten screws and recheck.
10. Turn the diagnostic mode selector fully counterclockwise.
