Air Induction Valve Control System (AIV)
Fig. 2 AIV Control System:
CIRCUIT OPERATION
The A.I.V control system is used to precisely control the A.I.V operation.
When the ECU senses the proper conditions suitable for A.I.V operation, via the engine temperature sensor, idle switch, crank angle sensor and vehicle speed sensor, it supplies the ground circuit to the A.I.V solenoid allowing the system to operate. Refer to EMISSION CONTROLS for further description of the A.I.V valve.

AIR INDUCTION VALVE SOLENOID
When the ECU senses the predetermined conditions for A.I.V operation, it energizes the A.I.V solenoid, redirecting vacuum from the source port and vent port to the source port and valve port applying vacuum to the A.I.V.
