Rattling Noise At Horn Contact Pin

SYMPTOM:
Rattling noise is produced inside the steering wheel while turning the steering wheel.

REPAIR METHOD
Tools required:
Grease with electrical conductivity (Silicone grease is not suitable.)

How to repair:





(1) Remove steering wheel.
(2) Apply grease to horn contact pin as shown in the figure.
^ Apply electrically conductive grease to contact pins for ASCD if it is applicable
^ Since the silicone grease does not have electrical conductivity, it is not suitable for this procedure.
(3) Install steering wheel.
Tightening torque:
29 - 39 N-m (3.0 - 4.0 kg-m, 22 - 29 ft.lb.)
