Included for your reference is a chart of power door lock logic for 1992-1993 Nissan vehicles. This chart shows the correct operation of power door locks for each model.

The 1992 model vehicles feature a "Slam Shut" logic. The customer no longer has to hold the outside front door handle up when locking the vehicle without the key.

On most 1992 vehicles the passenger side door lock both unlocks and locks only the passenger door (except Maxima, Pathfinder, and 300ZX).

With the introduction of all new models in the future, Nissan door lock logic will be consolidated into two types: Type I and Type II. Type I door lock logic will be used in the 1993 Altima. Type II door lock logic will be used on vehicles such as the 1992 Maxima and Pathfinder.
