CONSULT GENERAL INFORMATION
This Bulletin gives updated general information for CONSULT. When performing a diagnosis using CONSULT, refer to the CONSULT Operations Manual for each system and the appropriate Service Manual for each model.

1. TOTAL SYSTEM
Description
The CONSULT unit is used to:
^ Display information that is stored in the electronic control unit (ECU) for each system on the vehicle. (Self-diagnostic result and ECU part number)
^ Measure directly and display signals from sensors and actuators. (Data monitor)
^ Drive actuators by communicating with the electronic control unit through the diagnostic connector for the CONSULT. (Active test and Work support)
DIAGNOSTIC CONNECTOR FOR THE CONSULT
The diagnostic connector on the vehicle is connected to the electronic control units for each system in parallel.
*: Refer to the appropriate CONSULT operation manual for each CONSULT function.
CONSULT can be used if:
1. The vehicle has a diagnostic connector for CONSULT; and
2. The vehicle system is CONSULT compatible; and
3. The CONSULT program card used to program the CONSULT unit has the applicable vehicle system information in it.
