AVERAGE COST PER VIN SERVICED (ACPVS) CALCULATION CHANGE
In April 1990, Nissan began monitoring dealer warranty expense by calculating the Average Cost Per Vehicle Serviced (ACPVS). The ACPVS calculation reflects claims expense at standardized dollars divided by the number of unique vehicles serviced.
Currently, ACPVS is calculated on a monthly basis. A three month rolling average is then used to compare dealer performance with that of the Region. Since this average is calculated monthly, a unique VIN could be counted more than once in the rolling three month period.
To more accurately calculate a 3 month ACPVS, the ACPVS formula will only utilize a unique VIN once in the rolling three month period. This change in calculation is a better indicator of a dealers performance because each VIN will only be represented once. This change will be effective with the February, 1992 DSA Report.
Questions regarding DSA should be directed to your District Service Manager or Dealer Operations Manager.
