POWER ANTENNA IMPROPER OPERATION
APPLIED MODELS:
All models equipped with power antennas
SERVICE INFORMATION
If a customer complains of improper or no operation of the power antenna (complaints-not related to reception), please follow the procedure below.
DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE
1. Remove antenna nut and base.
2. Withdraw antenna rod while raising it by operating antenna motor. (Turn radio switch from "off" to "on" to operate antenna motor.) If the motor is inoperative replace the antenna assembly. If the motor is operative, replace the antenna rod only.
INSTALLATION
1. Lower replacement antenna rod by operating antenna motor. (Turn radio switch from "on" to "off".)
2. Insert gear section of antenna rope with it facing toward motor.
3. As soon as antenna rope is wound on antenna motor, stop antenna motor. Insert antenna rod lower end into antenna motor pipe.
4. Retract antenna rod completely by operating antenna motor. (If the antenna motor stops before antenna has fully retracted, turn the radio switch "on" and immediately turn it "off" again.)
5. Install antenna nut and base.
