Impact Sensor: Service and Repair

Disable airbag system, refer to Service and Repair.

Refer to Fig. 24 for control unit and sensor replacement noting the following:
1. Check all sensors for proper installation. Note: The Tunneling Sensor is mounted forward of the center console and the Control Unit is mounted above the steering column.
2. Check all sensors to ensure they are free of deformities, dents, cracks or rust. If sensors show any visible signs of damage, replace them with new components.
3. Check sensor brackets to ensure they are free of deformities or rust.
