Fuel Pump Control System

Fuel Pump Control:

PURPOSE
The ECM controls the grounding of the Fuel Pump Relay to control Fuel Pump output.

OPERATION
During starting, the ECM activates the fuel pump directly for several seconds to pressurize the fuel system and improve starting. Once the engine has started and the ECM is receiving inputs from the Crank Angle Sensor, the ECM will regulate the ground circuit of the Fuel Pump Relay.
