Engine Assembly Removal and Installation

Refer to Figs. 1 and 2 when removing the engine.
1. Place vehicle on level ground and block the wheels.
2. Release fuel pressure as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE.
3. Remove engine undercover.
4. Mark and remove hood.
5. Drain cooling system.
6. Drain engine oil into a suitable container.
7. Disconnect fuel and vacuum hoses, wire harness and connectors as necessary.
8. Remove front exhaust tube, ball joints and driveshafts.
9. Remove radiator fan and radiator assembly.
10. Remove drive belts.
11. Remove alternator, compressor and power steering pump from engine. Position component out of the way without disconnecting hoses.
12. With engine properly supported, remove center member,
13. Lower engine and transmission out of engine compartment ensuring not to hit it against adjacent parts.

14. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install engine mount insulators are installed as shown, Fig. 3.
b. On models with manual transmission, adjust height of engine mounting as shown, Fig. 4.
