Connecting Rod: Service and Repair

DISASSEMBLE
1. Remove piston rings with a ring remover.
2. Remove snap ring, then press out piston pin using piston pin press or heat piston to 140-150°F and remove piston pin. Keep disassembled parts in order.

ASSEMBLE
1. Assemble pistons, piston pins and connecting rods of designated cylinders.
2. Install new snap ring on one side of piston pin.
3. Align piston and connecting rod direction.
4. Ensure stamped numbers on connecting rod and cap correspond to each cylinder.
5. Heat piston to 140-150°F and assemble piston, piston pin, connecting rod and new snap ring.
6. Install piston rings.
