1990-96 300ZX TURBO SHORT BLOCK BLIND OIL PLUG INSTALLATION

APPLIED VEHICLE:
1990-96 300ZX (Z32), Turbo models only

APPLIED ENGINE:
VG30DETT

SERVICE INFORMATION

New VG30DETT short blocks do not have blind oil plugs installed into the holes at the oil filter bracket mount. When installing a new VG30DETT into a 300ZX Turbo, these blind oil plugs must be installed before installing the oil filter bracket to the engine.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Install two blind oil plugs into the cylinder block before installing the oil filter bracket:





1. Tap the two blind plugs into the holes shown in Figure 1.

2. Make sure the plugs are tapped into place securely.
