Fuel Pump Control System

Fuel Pump Control Input And Output Chart:

PURPOSE

The Fuel Pump Control Unit will vary the voltage to the fuel pump to control pump noise and increase the operating life of the pump.

LOCATION

The Fuel Pump Control Unit is located in a compartment behind the driver's seat (coupe) and to the left of the back seat (2+2).




OPERATION

The Fuel Pump Control Unit will supply full battery voltage to the Fuel Pump:

^ for one second when the ignition switch is turned "on".
^ when the engine is cranking.
^ for 30 seconds after engine starts when engine coolant temperature exceeds 122 deg F.
^ when the engine is running with a medium to heavy load.

The Fuel Pump Control Unit will supply approx. 8 VDC to the Fuel Pump:

^ any condition OTHER than the above exists.
