Engine: Service and Repair

1. Release fuel system pressure as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove hood. Mark hood for installation reference.
3. Remove vacuum and fuel hoses, wires, harnesses, electrical connectors and linkages.
4. Remove radiator, fans and coupling, then the drive belts.
5. Remove alternator, air conditioning compressor and power steering pump.
6. Raise and support vehicle, then remove engine undercover.
7. Drain engine coolant from cylinder block and radiator.
8. Drain engine oil, then remove front exhaust pipes.
9. Remove drive shafts and ball joints.
10. Attach suitable lifting equipment to engine and support transaxle with a suitable jack.
11. Remove left and right rear engine mounts.
12. Remove center member, then slowly lower transaxle jack and remove engine and transaxle from under vehicle.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
