Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Fuel Pump Fuse Location And Identification:

1. Remove fuel pump fuse and run engine until it stalls, to release fuel pressure in system.
2. Remove radiator drain plug and drain coolant into a suitable container.
3. Remove intake collector and any associated wires or hoses.

Injector Removal And Replacement:

4. Disconnect injector electrical connectors.
5. Remove fuel rail retaining bolts.
6. Lift fuel rail and injectors from vehicle.

Injector Removal And Replacement:

7. Remove injector retaining screws and push injector out from bottom side of fuel rail



INSTALLATION

Injector Removal And Replacement:

NOTE: Replace all injector seals when injectors are removed.

1. Tighten clamps (1).
2. Install front sub-fuel line.
3. Tighten clamps (2).

Injector Removal And Replacement:

4. Tighten clamps (1).
5. Install rear sub-fuel line.
6. Tighten clamps (2).
7. Reverse remainder of procedure to finish installation.
