Neutral Safety Switch: Testing and Inspection

Shift Linkage Connection To Inhibitor Switch:

1. Disconnect control cable from manual shaft.

Inhibitor Switch Positions:

Inhibitor Position Chart:

Testing Switch:

2. Check continuity between terminals 1 and 3 and between terminals 4 and 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 while moving selector lever through each position.


3 If N.G. on step 2, adjust manual control linkage.


4. Check continuity of inhibitor switch terminal. - Refer to step 1.

Replacing Switch:

5. If N.G. on step 4, replace inhibitor switch.
