SERVICE INFORMATION

On the applied models, the following symptoms may be noted: engine cranks but won't start/or engine starts and stops; engine hesitates on acceleration and lacks power; fuel pressure may be normal or below specification.


INSPECTION





Remove fuel filter and drain fuel into a clean, dry, clear container. Inspect fuel from filter for a substantial amount of foreign particulates. If a large quantity of foreign material is observed, remove fuel pump from the fuel tank. Replace fuel pump with P/N 17042-73Y00 (replacement pump is gold color). The upper bracket must be replaced to accommodate the new fuel pump, P/N 17014-53J00 Upper Bracket. The lower mounting bracket for the fuel pump will not have to be replaced. Install new fuel filter. Flush fuel tank and fuel lines to remove foreign material from fuel system.

NOTE:
A slight discoloration of fuel (blackish) may be considered normal.
