SERVICE INFORMATION:





On some of the applied vehicles, the indicator light in the fog lamp switch glows dim or bright when the switch is in the "off" position. If this symptom is exhibited, check the Main Harness part tag by the wiper motor connection to determine the "part level" (Figure 1). The first five digits of the Main Harness part number are always: "24010." Refer to Figure 1 for the location of the "part level."





Then, check the "part level" of the Engine Hamess near the fusible links (Figure 2). The first 5 digits of the Engine Harness are always "24012." Refer to Figure 2 for the location of the "part level" mark.

REPAIR INFORMATION [based on "part level" of the harnesses]:





1. If either of the following harness' "part level" combinations are present, perform the wiring modification identified in Figure 3.

a. Main Harness 24010, "part level" # 3 with jumper on Main Hamess; combined with Engine Harness 24012-64Yxx, "part level" # 5.

b. Main Harness 24010, "part level" # 3; combined with Engine Hamess 24012-5BOxx, "part level" N. (Figure 3)

NOTE:
The jumper is attached to the Main Harness and the fog lamp switch.

Modification:
Switch the black wire and the green/orange wire in the black connector of the jumper harness.

2. If the following hamess' "part level" combination is present, perform the modification detailed in Figure 4. The symptom is that the fog lamp switch indicator will remain bright in either the "on" or "off" position.

a. Main Harness 24010 with "part level" # 4 [with Black wire spliced to Green/Orange wire (identified in Figure 4)]; combined with Engine Harness 24012-64Yxx, "part level" # 5.

NOTE:
"Part level" # 4 Main Harness will not have a jumper connected to the fog lamp switch.

3. Main Harness 24010, "part level" # 4; combined with Engine Harness 24012-5B0xx, "part level" N, requires no rework or changes.
