Rear Wheel Steering Oil Pump: Service and Repair
REPLACEMENT1. Remove oil pump drive belt.
2. Drain fluid into a suitable container.
3. Disconnect and plug oil pipes.
4. Remove oil pump mounting bolts then the oil pump.
5. Reverse procedure to install, bleeding hydraulic system.

DISASSEMBLE
Parts which can be disassembled are strictly limited.
Never disassemble parts other than those specified. Refer to Fig. 6 to disassemble the oil pump assembly, noting the following:
1. Remove inlet and outlet connectors. The discharge connector incorporates a flow control valve. Ensure care is taken not to drop connector.
2. Remove end cover assembly then the driveshaft snap ring and the driveshaft.
3. Remove front cover oil seal.

ASSEMBLE
Refer to Fig. 6 to assemble the oil pump assembly, noting the following:
1. Ensure O-ring and oil seal are properly installed.
2. Coat each part with ATF when assembling.
3. Cam ring, rotor and vanes must be replaced as a set if necessary.
4. Cam ring shape is different between front and rear, ensure front side cam ring is installed with punch mark set on pulley side and that rear side cam ring is installed with punch mark set on rear housing side, Fig. 8.
5. Ensure rotor is installed in correct direction, Fig. 10.
6. When assembling vanes to rotor, rounded surface of vanes must face cam ring side.
7. Tighten rear housing bolts in a diagonal sequence as follows:
a. Torque bolts to 6-8 ft. lbs., then to 13-16 ft. lbs.
