Ignition Control Module: Description and Operation

Ignition Module:

PURPOSE
To amplify the ignition signal from the Engine Control Module (ECM).

OPERATION
The ignition signal from the ECM is amplified by the power transistor, which turns the ignition coil primary circuit on and off, inducing the proper high voltage in the secondary circuit.
