Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection



Mass Air Flow Sensor Test:




1. Fold back mass air flow sensor harness connector rubber as shown in the figure if the harness connector is connected.
2. Turn ignition switch "ON".
3. Start engine and warm it up sufficiently.
4. Check voltage between terminal "b" and ground.

^ With the ignition switch "ON"(Engine stopped), there should be: Approximately 0.8 Volts DC.

^ At Idle (Engine is warmed-up sufficiently), there should be: Approximately 0.8 - 1.5 Volts DC.

"Hot Film" Type Mass Air Flow Sensor:




5. If NG, remove mass air flow sensor from air duct. Check hot wire for damage or dust.
