Removal and Installation

REMOVAL
1. Disarm SRS as described under Air Bag Arming and Disarming.
2. Remove lower lid from steering wheel, then disconnect air bag module connector.
3. Set steering wheel in straight-ahead position, then remove side lids.
4. Use Torx bit to remove left and right air bag module attaching bolts.
5. Remove air bag module from steering wheel.

INSTALLATION
1. Install air bag module and secure with new attaching bolts, then tighten to torque listed in Specifications.
2. Connect air bag module electrical connector.
3. Install steering column covers and steering wheel lid.
4. Arm SRS as described under Air Bag Arming and Disarming.
5. Ensure entire SRS operates properly using Consult tool or warning lamp self-diagnosis. Air bag warning lamp will light for about seven seconds when ignition is turned to On or Start. If lamp remains on or fails to light, refer to Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems).
