Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

Vehicle Speed Sensor:

DESCRIPTION
The vehicle speed sensor, Located in the top of the transaxle housing, is a magnetic reed switch that rotates in conjunction with vehicle speed.

OPERATION
It signals the Engine Control Module (ECM) in open/closed terms. The ECM monitors the speed of the open/closed signals which are transformed into a pulse signal and interpreted as vehicle speed.
