Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Test:

Immerse sensor in water at specified temperatures and check resistance with an ohmmeter.
Resitance should decrease as temperature increases.
Replace the sensor if it fails the test below.

TEMPERATURE: 20°C (68°F)
Resistance: 2.3 - 2.7K ohms

TEMPERATURE: 90°C (94°F)
Resistance: 0.24 - 0.26K ohms

TEMPERATURE: 110°C (230°F)
Resistance: 0.14 - 0.15K ohms
