Without Scan Tool

1. If the ignition switch stays "ON" after repair work, be sure to turn ignition switch "OFF" once. Wait for at least 3 seconds and then turn it "ON" again.
2. Perform "Self-Diagnostic Procedure (Without Scan Tool)" under "How to Display and Read Diagnostic Trouble Codes". Self-Diagnostic Procedure Without Scan Tool
3. Change the diagnostic test mode from Mode II to Mode I by turning the mode selector on the ECM.




NOTES:
^ Switching the modes is not possible when the engine is running.
^ When ignition switch is turned off during diagnosis, power to the Engine Control Module (ECM) will drop after approx. 1 second.
The diagnosis will automatically return to Diagnostic Test Mode I.
^ Turn back diagnostic test mode selector to the fully counterclockwise position whenever vehicle is in use.
