MULTI-REMOTE CONTROL SWITCH PRECAUTIONS

APPLIED VEHICLES:
All with Nissan multi-remote control systems

SERVICE INFORMATION

Observe the following precautions in the handling of Nissan multi-remote control switches:

1. Use the correct battery for replacement.

Aftermarket Battery Part Vehicle Model Remote
Number

CR2025 Maxima, 3OOZX, 240SX

CR2016 Sentra, 2OOSX, Quest

NOTE:
Do not use the CR2016 battery in any remotes except for Sentra, 200SX, and Quest. The CR2016 battery is slightly smaller and will cause intermittent contact in other Nissan multi-remote switches.

2. Use the correct programming procedure for the vehicle model. The procedures vary slightly from model to model. Refer to NTB95-093 (EL95-011) for details.

3. Do not mix multi-remote switches on any individual vehicle. A vehicle may come in with two multi-remote switches, each of which is programmed to that particular vehicle. If you use a multi-remote switch from another vehicle, it will not operate. All of the customer's multi-remote switches, up to four, must be programmed to the vehicle at the same time because the programming procedures erase any previous programs.
