Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Test:

Immerse sensor in water at specified temperatures and check resistance with an ohmmeter.
Resitance should decrease as temperature increases.
Replace the sensor if it fails the test below:

TEMPERATURE: 20°C (68°F)
Resistance: 2.1 - 2.9K Ohms

TEMPERATURE: 50°C (122°F)
Resistance: 0.68 - 1.0K Ohms

TEMPERATURE: 80°C (176°F)
Resistance: 0.30 - 0.33K Ohms
